During this two day course, participants will become familiar with or extend your practice with the knife and gouges. Jennifer believes that hands on application results in the development of the fundamental building blocks of carving. This results in students getting personal one on one help, discussion or critique as the situation demands.
This course is intended to further explore the skills needed and opportunities presented in relief carving. The focus of the course will be a stylized fish.
Jennifer Marlow blew out to sea and landed on a spit of sand off the coast of Cape Cod. It was on Nantucket Island the Jennifer learned the art of woodcarving over 15 years a ago. Back on her native soil, Nova Scotia, she carves sculpture, found in a few galleries as well as signs big and small. When she’s not carving, she teaches both piano and carving… but not at the same time…yet.
