Dale Fehr
DALE FEHR is a 20-year Maritimer “from away”. His Maccan studios transformed an historic General Store into a kaleidoscope of art, literature, and history.
He was Alberta-born and has lived in four provinces so far. He began painting at age 13 and never stopped for 60 years. His inspiration comes from the idea of translucence: layers of space and form. He is known as a colourist seeking complex harmonies. He works mostly in acrylic, but has also created huge murals across Canada and Boston.
Throughout his arts career, he has contributed as a national visual arts editor, completed commissions for royalty, and founded publications, arts organizations, and galleries.;
His passion for community has always influenced his works wherever he travels.
“My goal is to capture the vibrant spiritual essence of the land and its inhabitants. I love the history and story of time seen in old structures and streetscapes, old trees, and everything along the way to wherever I am headed. Colour is emotion, colour is a healer, and colour is infinite in its complexity of combinations. My favorite light is the golden hour of approaching dusk or early sunrise. I come from a large creative family and consider the whole world my garden.”
"I view the world through translucent eyes,
too opaque to reveal truths,
too transparent to conceal lies"
