Biography

I took my first photo at about the age of seven. It was of a church on Manitoulin Island in Ontario. Since then, buildings have often been the focus of my attention. The penny dropped when taking an architectural photography workshop in Edmonton and I learned to capture on camera what my eye saw. I now approach photography in the same way that I approach gardening. I seek shapes, patterns, textures, and contrasts. A recurring theme has been documenting evidence of the decline of manufacturing and the beauty of disrepair.

When not behind the camera or in the garden, I am a PhD wood scientist working on ways to reduce the wood in wood panel products.
