Randy Corcoran

Randy Corcoran was born in 1956 to Air Force Officer Alex Corcoran (Quebec) and Jane Phinney (Nova Scotia). Randy has spent much of his life traveling between the beautiful seaside town of Parrsboro and the rest of Canada. he felt an early urge to create and follow in the footsteps of his carpenter/carver cousins.

In the summers of 1984-89, he was very busy as an actor and carpenter aboard the M.V. Kipawo helping to build the Ship’s Company Theatre.

Following his years at Nova Scotia Teacher’s College and Mount St. Vincent University, the Pacific Northwest Coast became home for two years. During his time there he taught Native North Americans and was seriously influenced by their art.

When Randy returned to Nova Scotia he taught in the public school system, while at the same time creating wooden stick people and honing his carving skills

In 1994 he settled back into his home town of Parrsboro opened a retail gallery and shop and started a guiding business called Dinatours.

Whether rock hounding, fishing, carving, painting, or envisioning new pop-up art experiences, Randy is always engaged with life and creativity.
